Detailed Product Description
The TOFD AID Wedge from TheSonic India is developed for axial inner-diameter weld inspection using Time-of-Flight Diffraction ultrasonic testing. This wedge is selected when the inspection must be performed from the internal side of a component and the scanning direction follows the component length.
Unlike OD wedges, the AID wedge is designed to match the concave inner surface of the component. This helps maintain stable contact and consistent coupling during internal axial scanning. Proper wedge seating is important for TOFD inspection because signal quality depends on stable probe positioning, sound path control, and repeatable scan movement.
