The TOFD CID Wedge from TheSonic India is designed for circumferential inner-diameter weld inspection using Time-of-Flight Diffraction ultrasonic testing. It is selected when the probe and wedge must be positioned on the internal curved surface and the inspection orientation follows the inside circumference of the component.
CID is different from AID because CID supports circumferential ID inspection, while AID supports axial ID inspection. The CID contact profile helps match the internal curved surface, reducing unstable probe movement and improving coupling consistency during internal scanning.
